About DOTE
A brief history of DOTE
D.O.T.E. -
Dog Obedience Training, Et Cetera - started with a group of other
ex club members who wanted to form a club with no
BS (as several of our club members say).
When drafting our rules, we elected to actually put in there that the point of our club is
to get together and have fun with our dogs! We actively seek to keep our club politic- and ego-free, with the emphasis on doing right by our dogs.
Though we originally started as a group interested in Obedience, we seek to embrace other dog sports, and have members with a variety of experience in other venues available to help, from draftwork/carting to conformation to tracking. We also actively look to train with other clubs and invite them to our field to work with us as well, it is great for us, as well as the dogs, to learn in other places and from other people. We also host seminar and training events in various dog sports, our most recent one being geared toward competitive obedience and precision tracking for both SchH and AKC venues.
We allow any breed to participate in any sport their person is interested in, there is no breed bias.
We hope to be a good example to other dog clubs, a group of people who always keep in mind the real reason they got into dogs and dog sports in the first place, as well as showing, through our performance in the ring or field, that a different way can be a good way.
Yours in the Sport(s),
Sara Donadei-Blood,
President, D.O.T.E.
